AFL Riverina informed clubs on Tuesday afternoon that they will postpone the opening rounds of the Farrer League finals series.
Clubs were asked for feedback surrounding the structure of Farrer League finals on Monday, including playing both the qualifying and elimination finals this Sunday should the lockdown be lifted in the Riverina.
However clubs voted overwhelmingly to push the finals series back a week.
"Please be aware that based on club feedback, both the AFL Riverina Board and Farrer FNL CMC have determined that our 2021 Farrer FNL Finals Series will not commence this Sunday, the 22nd of August 2021," Southern NSW AFL community football and competition manager Tom Walker said.
"We hope to be in communication with all clubs either this Thursday or Friday regarding our path forward pending on NSW Government announcements."

AFL Riverina hope that the lockdown is lifted throughout the Riverina on Sunday, as originally proposed, and that would allow the Farrer League finals to commence with the standard opening opening weekend over two days.
The only potential problem there is a clash of grand finals with the Riverina League.
If the lockdown is extended a further week, then some tough decisions will need to be made.
AFL Riverina would need to consider holding both the qualifying or elimination finals on Sunday, August 29, or exploring other options.
The Riverina League has moved their final round of games from this Saturday to Sunday in the hope of the lockdown ending.
