Another five people in Wagga have been stung with $1000 fines as police continue to search for those who attended an illegal party that breached public health orders.

Police have been told that up to 40 students gathered in a room within the university's accommodation blocks, about 10pm on July 28.
The group dispersed after two security guards attended, and officers attached to Riverina Police District attended the premises on Thursday.

Riverina Police District Superintendent Bob Noble said that another five people have been fined, bringing the total number up to 18.
"That was entirely irresponsible behaviour especially in the context of a growing outbreak in Sydney," he said.
"That was risky behaviour.
"Our inquiries continue."
Earlier in the week, Charles Sturt University's interim vice-chancellor John Germov told The Daily Advertiser that he was disappointed in the behaviour of students involved
"We support the zero-tolerance approach to breaches of public safety orders and will continue to work with students and staff to ensure the safety of our campuses and communities," he said.
"Charles Sturt is conducting its own investigations into the matter and will take appropriate disciplinary action against any students found to have breached public safety orders."
