Kooringal High School moved through to the final of the Creed Shield courtesy of a goal with just 30 seconds remaining in extra-time.
It handed Kooringal a thrilling 3-2 win over Christian College and moved them through to next week's final, where they will meet Kildare Catholic College.
For Christian College, it was a honourable end to a historic campaign where they won through to the semi-final stage for what it is believed to be the first time in the history of the Creed Shield.
Wagga Christian College teacher David Ellis said they were extremely proud of the team despite the disappointing end.
"I thought they handled it really well. I thought they played all the games well," Ellis said.
"There was a little bit of rough stuff in some of them...but they've handled the situation in a relaxed way and knowing they want to do what's right, no matter what's going on around them.
"Most of the guys are in year 11 so we're really looking forward to next year, when we'll be even stronger."
Christian College captain Samson Lucas led the way for his team, while goal keeper Loro Kuron proved a real find throughout the competition.
Ellis also gave credit to Michael Lucas, who coached the team.

Ellis put Christian College's rise down to the development of a core group within the school.
"I probably just think that core group is older," he said.
"We missed out by one goal last year I think...it's just been those guys slowly getting older and better and better. A few of them now play Wanderers stuff, or play reserves, so they're used to playing up against older people so it's just been their gradual development as they've got older and better."
Meantime, Wagga High School will take on The Riverina Anglican College (TRAC) in the Shipard Shield final, in what will be a replay of last year's decider. TRAC edged out the Kildare girls 2-1, while Wagga High beat Mater Dei Catholic College 4-0.
