Young moved to just one point outside the top four and gained an important goal difference boost with a 7-0 win over the Wolves at Hall Bros Oval.
The Lions backed up a pretty good performance the week before, a 1-1 draw with Henwood Park, by putting Tolland to the sword.
The 7-0 win moves them to a goal difference of 26, the same as fourth-placed Lake Albert.
The Sharks are only now one point ahead of Young after their 3-3 draw with Leeton United at MIA Sports Field on Sunday.
Leeton took control early and took a 2-0 lead into half-time. But the Sharks responded after the break and stormed to the lead on the back of three quick goals.
But a second goal to Munya Kawara helped Leeton clinch a 3-3 draw, the second of the season between the two clubs.
The important double by Kawara was the first time he had hit the scoreboard in Pascoe Cup this season, in just his seventh appearance.
Leeton coach Frank Alampi described it as a game of two halves.

"That was one of, if not our best, first halves of the season," Alampi told The Irrigator.
"We controlled the ball really well after the first 10 minutes and the boys were just working well together.
"We just made a lot of silly mistakes in that second half which cost us. There were a lot of individual errors and I think that frustrated the boys.
"It's something we will need to improve on and the boys know that.
"They had an excellent first half, but after the break and the change in momentum, we just didn't handle it very well."
The draw between Leeton and Lake Albert, only enhanced Hanwood's position at the top of the table.
After last week's draw with Wagga United, Hanwood bounced back with a 5-1 win over South Wagga at Hanwood.
South Wagga, who have been big improvers this season, were right in the contest for large periods of the contest.
Hanwood led 1-0 at half-time, but a couple of Daniel Johnson goals after the break helped the home team push ahead.
Hanwood coach Brian Bertolin was pleased with the way his team finished the game.
"The first half was a bit like last week where we created chances but weren't able to put them away but the second half was much better," Bertolin told The Area News.
"We sort of relaxed a bit and started to finish our chances which was pleasing to see."
Hanwood are seven points clear on top.
