The Hawks' 13.9 (87) to 8.8 (56) victory was their ninth win in their last 10 games. In fact, their only losses in almost four months of football have been to the one team above them on the ladder, Marrar.
The foundations were laid with a five-goal opening quarter from the visitors.
The Jets had the better of the second term but the game was determined after half-time as EWK went from nine points up at the main break to 30 points clear at three-quarter-time.
They controlled far more of the play in the second half and might have kicked right away if it wasn't for a 3.4 third term while holding the Jets to a solitary point.
The result continued an incredible run for the Hawks of seven straight wins on the Jets' home grounds. EWK haven't lost a game at Ardlethan or Ariah Park now since June 2013.
Consistent ruckman Kyle North-Flanagan led the way again for the Hawks along with veteran Ben Absolum who is timing his form beautifully for finals.
Alex Rogers kicked three goals in a second strong game against his old club this year and Max Tiernan, Nathan Scott and Trent Garner were strong down back. Tom Pocock had a cork but otherwise the Hawks came through injury-free.
It's two straight losses for the Jets after last week's upset by Temora, which had already cost them any chance of finishing higher than fifth.
However, they were pleased to get throughout without new injuries following a tough run in the last few weeks.
Jack Fisher continued his strong season with another big effort while Chris Bell kicked three goals in his return from a groin strain.
The Jets are at Coleambally next week and the Hawks at home to CSU but their first week of finals will be determined by The Rock-Yerong Creek's trip to Temora. If the 'Pies win, they play EWK in the first final, and the Jets face North Wagga. If Temora cause an upset, the Hawks instead face the Saints and the Jets tackle the 'Pies.
