A driver who allegedly gave police a false name was caught out with five outstanding warrants and slapped with a fine for breaching public health orders.

About 6pm on July 26, officers stopped the vehicle on the highway at Jugiong, and the driver was subjected to random drug testing, allegedly returning a positive indication for methamphetamine.
Police allege that the driver was unable to produce his licence, and when he was required to provide his details, he gave police a false name.

Officers then searched the car and say they found bags of cannabis seeds in a sunglasses case as well as a wallet that contained an interstate drivers licence with the driver's real name.
Officers from Regional South West Puma then arrested the 35-year-old man from Casula and took him to Gundagai Police Station, where the five outstanding warrants were executed.
He was also charged with unlicensed driving and stating a false name and was refused bail to appear before Wagga Local Court.
Further charges are pending an analysis of the prohibited drugs and the oral fluid sample taken from the driver.
He was also issued a penalty notice in relation to breaching the public health order.
