The Gundagai hooker hasn't played since damaging ankle ligaments in the round two win over Temora.
The Dragons were again his rivals on Saturday and after over three months on the sidelines the 27-year-old was thrilled to be back.
"It was good to get a few troops back and be out there playing," Luff said.
"It was great to be back.
"It pulled up a bit sore but I wanted to test it out before finals so it was good."
Luff is hoping to get more match fitness ahead of the finals.

He thought his season was over after his initial diagnosis but a second opinion paved the way for his return.
Luff scored the last eight points of the game to seal the 30-10 win.
He was pleased to help the side to another win and getting over the try line was the icing on the cake of his return
"It is always nice to get a bit of meat so I was pretty happy to contribute to the win," he said.
"There were a couple of boys who really dug deep so it was a good win for us."
Gundagai sit in fourth on the ladder but with their points differential are likely to remain there.
They do face third-placed Young in a fortnight but the Cherrypickers are two points clear, and potentially three if their game against Albury is changed to a draw, and have a bye in the final round of the season.
Regardless Luff is confident the Tigers are heading in the right direction.
"It was a good win," he said.
"They showed up, wanted to play and really put it to us in a few stages there but we overcame a bit of adversity to keep them out.
"It was good not to leak any points in the second half."
However it is far from good news on the injury front for the Tigers ahead of their clash with Kangaroos at Anzac Park on Sunday.
James Smart only lasted 20 minutes in his return, Ryan McQueen and Blake Dunn didn't play due to hamstring complaints while Royce Tout and Joel Field both failed to play out the game with the same issue.
