Stoltz scored the last two tries for the Bulls as they claimed a 49-47 win over Waratahs.

There was little between the two sides at Jarrah Oval on Saturday, but with their season on the line the Bulls kept fighting.

Coach Ray Wells was thrilled with how his team kept pushing to move within a point of the fourth-placed Steamers.

It sets up a dramatic last two rounds with Albury and Tumut both having a bye and taking on unbeaten Wagga City.

"We will take anything but I think the guys have the will and the confidence to get the points," Wells said.

"It might come to the stage where we need two points."

Jim Meya crossed for three tries while Vincent Wise also bagged a double as the Bulls scored an eight tries to seven victory.

Waratahs remain in second place after slipping to their third loss of the season.

It was the Wagga club's first game for a month and they will be looking to respond when they host third-placed Griffith on Saturday.

Meanwhile a big second half from Wagga City ensured they remain unbeaten.

Griffith led 16-14 at half-time but it was all the Boiled Lollies in the second stanza.

Coach Ben Schreiber was pleased with how the side responded after being put under pressure to take a 43-16 victory.

"Griffith came out of the blocks and were giving their all in the first 20 to 30 minutes and we were really on the back foot," Schreiber said.

"Discipline let us down early on but we were lucky enough our bench provided us the lift that we needed when we needed it. The likes of James Beaufils coming on and John Blackmore really bolstered us towards the back end of the game."

Rory Sheard picked up his fourth yellow card of the season.

However Schreiber thought being undermanned really spurred the premiers on.

"It was really good to see the boys' characters shine through, especially being a man down for 10 minutes," he said.

"Griffith definitely had their tails up but our boys dug in to fight back to get us back to where we had to be."

Wagga City travel to face Albury next week who returned to action with a 21-10 win over Ag College.

After sitting out last week, the Steamers took advantage of playing on the border.

They have one last chance to cement their finals berth against Wagga City on Saturday before their bye in the last round.

Meanwhile Ag College will be searching for their third win of the season against winless CSU.
