The club will wear a special strip for their anniversary showdown with Griffith at Conolly Rugby Complex on Saturday.

The green and white design is a homage to their original green jumpers worn in 1951, which were donated by Randwick.

Griffith have given the unbeaten premiers their biggest test so far and coach Ben Schreiber expects nothing less this time around.

However he's confident the side can rise to challenge to kick start the celebrations.

"Griffith really brought it to us over there so I expect nothing less this game," Schreiber said.

"Obviously our boys are going to have to muscle up in the middle as well as trying to create that mismatch we try to do every single time to expose a weakness.

"I think we are going to weather the storm early on."

Their double points game next week with Albury was altered, and their postponed clash from round one has been declared a scoreless draw.

Schreiber admitted it was some disappointment over the change.

"The double point thing against Albury was going to be quite interesting and everyone was a bit excited for it ," he said.

"It has been taken off the table now obviously so we will just have to go with what the board comes up with."

Fresh off the bye, Wagga City come into the clash with their strongest line up.

However the women's side has a much bigger task up against them as they look to secure their finals berth.

The Boiled Lollies sit in fourth and are now five points clear of Ag College while last year's grand finalists CSU are another six points back.

Captain Kellie Allcorn is looking to keep their finals hopes in their own destiny.

"We need to at least win one of the next two games so hopefully that is this weekend," Allcorn said. "It is going to be a challenge to get through to the finals."

The Blacks are yet to be beaten this season, but have been held to a draw by Waratahs.

Allcorn is hopeful of having a few faces back from injury will help but Griffith have not conceded a point in their last three games since their 15-all draw last month.

However Wagga City have been focusing on their defence to try to nullify Griffith as they look to rise to the challenge.

"We're definitely got to be at our best as it is a hard challenge," she said.

"We're just going to have to meet them in defence, get up in their face and try to shut them down."

While COVID restrictions have impacted numbers, Wagga City will then host their anniversary ball.
