Blake Jones has to overcome barrier 12 in the Menangle Country Series final, which will be run at Bathurst on Wednesday night.
Early scratchings have the task harder with Just Ralph now the fourth horse to start from the back row.
"Either way it is not real good but he run super in the heat and his sectionals were pretty good," Jones said.
"It was a steady lead time too so he probably shouldn't have got that close but he's feeling good and working good.
"Unfortunately he's just drawn terrible again."

Just Ralph has won two of his eight starts for Jones and his partner Ellen Bartley as well as two placings.
They were thrilled with how he hit back to book his place after a seventh.
"We gave him a freshen up after his run before, when he didn't pace real good and the race wasn't run to suit," Jones said.
"As soon as he got to the chair Pete (McRae) put the foot down on Western Style which didn't suit and he definitely did pace as good.
"He's not the prettiest pacer in the world and he was even worse that day so we gave him an easy week and he seems to be back to his best."
