The Wagga side are the only team to get the better of Temora so far this season and had a battle on their hands to repeat dose.
Temora hit the front twice in the first half before a resurgent Brothers scored three straight tries to put themselves in the box seat.
Coach Chris Suckling was pleased with their resilience to switch the momentum to take a 22-18 win.
"It was a very good game and it was a struggle but we got there in the end and that's the main thing," Suckling said.
Nicole Absolum, who was among their best, scored a double to kick start their fightback.
Bridget Horsley and Merrae Argus also found their way over the line to help Brothers to their 11th win of the season.
Courtney McCrone scored twice for Temora, including one to close the gap.
There was plenty of time left for the Dragons but Brothers held strong.
Heading into the clash, Suckling wanted the team to really play out the contest and was pleased with how they responded.
"We knew we had to play out the whole game as always against Temora you expect a hard game," he said.
"You just have to play to the last minute but we kept hanging in there so it was a good effort."
The loss sees the Dragons fall three points behind Brothers with four rounds remaining.
Brothers have two byes and a clash against winless Junee in the next three weeks.
Meanwhile Gundagai produced their biggest result of the season to further boost their finals chances.
The fifth-placed Tigers held third-placed Albury to a 14-all draw at Anzac Park on Saturday.
The Thunder, who were the only border outfit to make the trip due to COVID restrictions, scored a 30-14 win when the two teams met earlier this season.
With Southcity suffering a 30-0 loss to fourth-placed Kangaroos, Gundagai are now five points clear of the Bulls in the battle for fifth.
