Fire and Rescue NSW arrived on the scene at Currawong Street just before 12.30pm to find the laundry smoke-logged. Around ten people had already self-evacuated from the building.
Firefighters donned breathing equipment to safely enter the building and extinguish the dryer fire, preventing any further spread of the blaze.
NSW Police and NSW Ambulance also attended the scene.
