Events range from classes in scientific drawing to an at-home Virtual Reality experience.

Associate Professor Shokoofeh Shamsi, from Charles Sturt University, will run two classes in scientific drawing on Saturday, August 14, at 10am and 2pm.

As a scientist and an artist, Shokoofeh specialises in capturing the morphological features of parasites. Her unique combination of skills allows her to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for parasitology through illustration.

Participants in this class will create a portrait of a nematode while learning about the science of the specimen captured under their microscope.

Tickets are just $20, and include a set of Artline Drawing System markers to take home.

The library also invites Riverina primary school teachers and homeschool parents to attend 'Teach the Teacher', on Thursday, August 19, at 5pm.

'Teach the Teacher' is a workshop run by Celia Connor, who lectures in biology and environmental sciences at Charles Sturt University.

Celia is passionate about promoting equality and access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) learning in regional schools.

Participants will learn practical tips to bring STEM to life for primary school students, as Celia shares her experience using microscopes to engage and explore science through hands-on learning.

Celia says, "We are hoping to break the glass ceiling that exists for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and female students, who may not always envision themselves in science-related careers."

'Teach the Teacher' is free to attend, and light refreshments will be provided, but places are limited, so bookings are essential.
