A memorable debut season for Flynn has come to an end after he suffered a dislocated shoulder in Greater Western Sydney's (GWS) loss to Sydney at the Gold Coast on Sunday.

Flynn will now return to Sydney to consult with a surgeon with the expectation that he will require a shoulder reconstruction.

"It's obviously disappointing for Flynny," GWS head of medical Cullan Ball told the Giants website.

"His shoulder went back in the first time but after it happened again we expected it probably wouldn't be one we could manage for the rest of the season.

"He'll head back to Sydney to see the surgeon and at this stage, we expect him to undergo a shoulder reconstruction later this week."

Flynn dislocated his shoulder during the third quarter of Sunday's game. He had it strapped and returned to the field only for it to dislocate a second time.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a fine season after making his AFL debut in round one. He has played 12 AFL games for the season, and averaged 12 disposals and 18 hit-outs a game.

Flynn has also kicked two goals in a game twice, against West Coast and North Melbourne.

Meantime, Wagga's Harry Cunningham is one of four Sydney Swans players in isolation for 14 days after attending the rugby test in Melbourne last week.

He was a late withdrawal from the Giants game and will miss Sydney's game against Fremantle this weekend.
