The third-placed Cherrypickers have lost four times this season, but never against a team below them on the ladder
Southcity have got the better of them three times so far this season, including a 20-6 win at Harris Park on Sunday.
Tumut scored a 30-18 win when the two teams met at Alfred Oval earlier this season.
Coach Nick Hall wants to see his side be more resilient to turn their fortunes around.
"They compete very hard the top two sides - Tumut and Southcity - and we have to find a way to start o fights and compete as much as them," Hall said.
He thought that showed in their latest loss to the Bulls.
"They (Southcity) just hung in there, then they got their chance and just took it," Hall said.
"The first chance they got they took it and we weren't good enough to defend it.
"We might say the bounce of the ball didn't go our way or a call didn't go our way or a penalty but you still have to be able to defend it.
"They had things that didn't go their way but defended it while we didn't.
"They are a good side who are coming second for a reason."

After trailing 8-0 at half-time, Young stormed back into the contest early in the second half.
However after Jayke Hogan crossed to cut the margin two points a couple of refereeing decisions didn't go their way.
As the momentum started to turn back towards the Bulls a high error rate cruelled any chance of a comeback.
"It just wasn't clean footy from us and it wasn't polished," Hall said.
"They are a good side who wrestle and hassle and compete well in everything.
"We just have to learn to compete back and stay in the fight.
"We have to be more patient. Be urgent, not desperate as there were a number of times where we would break through the line and get into the back field only to throw a ball on the ground or drop a pass.
"You should be able to build pressure off that and we just released it.
"There were a handful of times we did that."
Blake Hewitt played limited minutes in the clash however Hall expects he will be right to tackle the Blues on Saturday.
"He got a knock and it looked like he had a wooden leg there for a while but I'm sure he will be right," he said.
"Blake is very durable. He will be right."
Tumut comes into the clash fresh from the bye and on a nine-game winning streak.
