The Goannas hosted one of their biggest crowds in recent history at Mangoplah Sportsground as they experimented with a rare Sunday game against Coolamon.
The idea behind it was to explore opportunities around same-day football and netball with their junior club.
MCUE president Jesse Cunningham declared the club's first foray into same-day football and netball in recent times was a big success.
"Absolutely. It was the first one for us, with the junior club, but seeing the gate and there's 20 cars backed up, it worked pretty well," Cunningham said.
"The junior club, we've got such a strong relationship with them at the moment and (Sunday) is only going to strength that relationship.
"I think it's pretty crucial with the transition from 15s football and netball going into the 17s. To see the crowd around there, we haven't seen a crowd like that at Mango for a long time."
Cunningham said the day was a win-win for juniors and seniors.

"I think the weather was nicer (Sunday) than it was (Saturday), which helped, but to see a few of the younger kids in the change rooms after the game and enjoying it, that atmosphere, it gives the young kids a buzz to see older boys running around," he said.
"Not only that but it's a good opportunity for the senior club to get around the junior club."
Cunningham said the Goannas would certainly look to hold more same-day Sunday games in the future.
"Absolutely. Obviously over the next few days we'll look at the figures but seeing the crowd (on Sunday), it was unbelievable," he said.
"It replicated a mini-final to be honest with the crowd around.
"It makes it a lot easier for these junior parents, who will be transitioning in the next few years to see how the senior club's run and what it's all about.
"It's only been positive."
MCUE's venture came on the same day as a rare Farrer League Sunday game as The Rock-Yerong Creek also experimented with juniors and seniors at the one venue against Northern Jets.
