The Cherrypickers are yet to get the better of a team above them on the ladder, with their three losses coming against the Bulls (twice) and Tumut so far this season.
However after a 60-point thrashing of Kangaroos last week, coach Nick Hall is confident they can turn things around at Harris Park on Sunday.
"I feel like we are going in the right direction with some of the little things that we've done," Hall said.
"Granted against some sides lower in the comp but there is some merit to the things we did against Roos."
Southcity scored a four-point win over Young at Alfred Oval in round five before snaring an eight-point result when the teams clashed at Laurie Daley Oval last month.
Combined with a 12-point loss to Tumut, Young's record against top three sides doesn't bode well.

However Hall had a very different take on it.
"We probably have beaten a top-three side - we've probably beaten ourselves a few times," he said.
"There is one of the top-three sides knocked over and now we just have to get one of the other two.
"Both those games (against Southcity) we were in it while in the Tumut game they got to a lead and were always going to beat us but we made it honest and they would have sweated a bit at the end.
"We just need to be able to go set-for-set with those guys and get into the grind."
He's looking to improve in a couple of key areas if they are really going to match Southcity and Tumut in their quest to end a 30-year premiership drought.
"There's two things we have to be better at - firstly hanging in games and then taking our shots when we get them," Hall said.
Young have made two changes to their line up from the 60-0 win over Kangaroos.
Front rower Inoke Vunipola comes back into the side after missing the past two weeks with a hamstring complaint.
Aaron Slater comes out after re-aggravating his calf issue.
Harry Fitzpatrick is back on the bench with Mitch Prest back to Weissel Cup after making his first grade debut on the weekend.
Will Dunn also remains on the wing with Nayah Freeman and Boro Navori not being pushed back.
Hall is also making COVID contingency plans with four of their players, including captain Mitch Cornish and fullback Tyler Cornish, based in Goulburn.
Southcity are set to welcome back Tim Hurst.
However he comes back into the side for Brody Tracey.
