A disqualified driver has been refused bail after facing court accused of failing to stop following a fatal collision in the Riverina earlier this week.

Police arrested Dennis Maxwell Irvin, 52, following the crash near Barellan on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Irvin has been charged with two counts of failing to stop and render assistance after a vehicle impact occasioning death, driving a vehicle while disqualified, not giving particulars to a driver and altering the concentration alcohol in blood before sampled.
According to police, a northbound Mitsubishi Outlander and an Iveco tabletop truck towing a caravan, travelling south, collided on Barellan Road at Barellan, about 50 kilometres east of Griffith, just before 4pm on Wednesday.

"The driver of the Iveco allegedly failed to stop and render assistance, leaving the scene," police said.
"Emergency services attended and treated the Mitsubishi driver, a 33-year-old man. However, he was unable to revived and died at the scene.
"His 92-year-old passenger was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital suffering minor injuries."
Police said the 33-year-old man was from Leeton.
A crime scene was set up and examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Following inquiries, officers went to a Barellan property about 5.15pm on Wednesday and arrested Mr Irvin.
He was taken to Griffith Hospital, where he underwent mandatory testing and was transferred to Griffith police station.
Mr Irvin was refused bail to face Griffith Local Court, where he was yesterday refused bail to reappear later this month.
