The length of AFL games has again been a hot topic this week, with a couple of AFL coaches leading the charge for the length of quarters to be reduced.
Quarters were reduced to 16 minutes, plus time on, last season due to the COVID-19 interruption but returned to 20 minutes this year, much to the delight of most fans.
Cunningham revealed he is a traditionalist when it comes to AFL and believes there is no reason to move away from 20 minute quarters.
"I'm a bit of a traditionalist. I like the game length at the moment," Cunningham said.
"I think sometimes people can talk for the sake of talking. I don't know that it needs to be fixed.
"I'm not sure on the numbers but footy's looked pretty good this year. I know there was a few rule changes at the start of the year but I reckon footy's looked pretty good."

Cunningham believes there is no real need to make changes.
"I don't know if we're searching for something when we talk about game length or not. I think with game rules we can search for things a little bit," he said.
"Like I said with the hub situation, you roll with the punches a little bit. If they make changes, they make changes if not so be it but I just don't think we need to search if it's not neccessary.
"I still love watching footy and I reckon the footy's been at a pretty good standard this year."
