Aside from a third quarter surge from the hosts where they booted four-goals-to-one, the unbeaten Goannas did what was needed against the bottom-placed Swans.
Jonathan Male starred up forward for MCUE with five goals, while Henry Delves continued his strong season for Griffith with three.
The Goannas face stiffer challenges when they host Coolamon next week, before they hit the road for a top-of-the-table blockbuster against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
"We were relatively happy," Goannas coach Jeremy Rowe said.
"It was the second week in a row where we had a quarter after a break and dropped our intensity. Griffith got their tail up and played some good footy in the third quarter, but it was still a very positive performance.
"When we kept our width and didn't have players going to the ball in a bees to the honey pot scenario, it allowed us to overlap and break lines.
"We're here to be challenged, and improve and work on the areas we've been exposed on. The third quarter gave us those areas, but the other three quarters were very good."

Sixteen-year-old Flynn Collins also made his debut for the Goannas.
Rowe said they were keen to see how they stand up under pressure against the Hoppers and Lions.
Coolamon have come closer than anyone to toppling MCUE, giving up a 30-point halftime lead in round four to go down by a goal.
"We're very excited by the next fortnight. Coolamon have some patchy form at the moment but we absolutely respect them and will prepare for them as if they'll be at their best," Rowe said.
"From a personnel perspective they've got some prime movers in key positions and we'll have to have our fair share of winners on the day to get it done.
"Them and Ganmain will give us a great measuring stick of where we are."
