Collingridge bagged seven goals in the 12.14 (86) to 7.6 (48) win at Peter Hastie Oval, which allows them to move to a 5-6 record and within striking distance of fifth-placed Northern Jets (5-5).
The Bushpigs set up the win with a five-goals-to-one second term, building a 21-point lead, before three unanswered third quarter goals put the result beyond doubt.
"If we had aspirations of playing finals, which every team does, we had to win today," CSU coach Travis Cohalan said.
"Jacob ended up with 7.2 and was lively whenever he went near the ball. He had a really good game and it's great credit for an 18 year old kid playing his first year of senior footy.
"His work off the ball and one percenters and pressure acts were just as good as the seven goals."

Cohalan said their increased positivity with the ball was encouraging as they look to break into the top five.
"We took the game on a bit more coming through the corridor and were more attacking," he said.
"That was good throughout the majority of the game and allowed the forwards like Jacob to get some good looks at goal."
