Moeilesami Moegatuli Afegogo appeared via video link at Wagga Local Court on Monday after being charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police say he was arrested after they found him with a laceration to his head and a 24-year-old man with stab wounds to his head and torso on Hill Street at Junee.
He was treated at hospital before being taken to Wagga Police Station.
Mr Afegogo did not apply for bail and it was formally refused by Magistrate Christopher Halburd. He did not enter a plea.
The matter returns to court on August 25 and Mr Afegogo will again appear via video link.
