An elderly man has died in hospital a week after being hit by a car at a Wagga pedestrian crossing.

About 5.50pm on June 17, police were called to Bourke Street, Tolland, after reports a Mitsubishi Triton had hit a pedestrian.
Officers from Riverina Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

He was later airlifted to St George Hospital for further treatment but succumbed to his injuries and died just after 5pm on Thursday.
The driver of the ute, a 35-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing. The passengers, two men - aged 23 and 19 - were not injured.
Police are still investigating the incident.
