An extensive clean-up and salvage operation is under way on the Hume Highway after a truck crash overnight.
Traffic diversions are still in place near Tumblong where motorists are advised of a 30 minute delay as the accident site is cleared.
Emergency services rushed to reports of the crash on the southbound lane of the dual carriageway, to the east of Wagga and about 16km south of Gundagai, just before 9pm on Wednesday.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said two heavy vehicles were travelling south when they collided about 8.30pm on Wednesday.
She said neither driver was injured, but that the vehicles needed to be towed and their spilled contents needed to be cleaned from the highway.
IN OTHER NEWS:
One tanker rolled and was leaking a load of 28,000 litres of liquid glucose, prompting Fire and Rescue NSW to use sand to create dams to stop the run off.
South-bound lanes were blocked and one driver was treated by NSW Ambulance.
The NSW Rural Fire Service was also in attendance.
Transport for NSW attended along with emergency services and a heavy vehicle tow truck was used to clear the wreckage.
Live Traffic is still alerting motorists to the delays, which it says are expected to remain this way "for some time", as of 7.08am.
Transport Management Centre NSW has issued advice that drivers will need to take Gocup Road to Tumut, then travel on the Snowy Mountains Highway via Adelong before re-joining the Hume Highway at Mount Adrah.
This diversion is suitable for all vehicles and will add about 30 minutes to your travel time.
NSW Ambulance has been contacted for comment.
