After pushing undefeated Brothers in their last clash, the Thunder went one better to down Kangaroos at Greenfield Park on Sunday.
The 16-4 win has them in third spot at the midway point of the season.
After a year off, coach Craig Blackhall is impressed with their start.
"They are going pretty good and all get on really good," Blackhall said.
"I don't think there is much between the top four sides.
"Brothers are obviously undefeated at the top there but there's only one or two points between the next three sides so it is going to be a tight contest at the end of the season to get in the top three."

After the bye ladder leading Brothers are one point clear of Temora, who enjoyed a 32-0 win over Gundagai on Sunday, with Albury a further win behind.
Kangaroos now sit in fourth, one point behind Albury, after suffering their second loss of the year.
Blackhall believes their Albury's depth has really helped to start fast this season.
"We've got some good combinations going and there is a bit of talent coming off the bench," he said.
"With a little bit of depth there right from the start of the year I wanted to concentrate on playing the game fast.
"They're pretty young and reasonably quick and have come on board with that pretty well."
Albury are looking to extend their strong start when they face premiers Young, who have just the one win to their credit so far, at Alfred Oval on Sunday.
Meanwhile Kangaroos are looking to hit back when they face Brothers at Equex Centre on Saturday.
The teams had a draw to start the season.
While there is little between the top four sides there is plenty of interest in the battle for fifth.
Gundagai currently hold the last finals position but only points differential separates them and Southcity after the Bulls scored a 26-14 win over winless Junee on Friday night.
