The premiers, who lost their first five games, made it four wins in a row with a nailbiting 24-19 win over Waratahs at Beres Ellwood Oval on Saturday.
Coach Joe Fisher believes getting the better of their now third-placed rivals will be another confidence booster.
"It's been really good as the girls are starting to learn what they can do and how they can get a few wins under their belts," Fisher said.
"I knew we could get the win but we just had to put some heart into it and the fact it was COL Cup helped a lot."
Waratahs had a late chance to level things but Ag College forced a mistake to hold on.
However the tight win wasn't enough to keep Aggies in the top four with Wagga City, who have a game in hand against second-placed Albury, went around them on points difference after taking a 53-0 win over Leeton.
It put a downer on another strong performance led by Elle Burnett.
"It was annoying but now that we've shown we can beat a dominant side like that we just have to keep working to get those points on the board," Fisher said.
"Hopefully a few bonus points in the next couple of weeks can help us work our way back up there."
Meanwhile Albury moved into second place with a 25-7 win over CSU.
The loss sees Reddies sit six points below a finals berth.
Griffith remains unbeaten after taking a 32-15 win over Hay.
