Daniel O'Reilly didn't realise how much he'd miss footy until he stepped away from it to concentrate on his studies.

The medical student might prove to be just what the doctor ordered for Marrar, called up to make his senior debut against the Northern Jets, with the Bombers' star ruckman Nick Molkentin away and Angus Daniher injured.
O'Reilly is loving being back in the fold of a football club and the former Wagga Swans junior has impressed enough to earn a call-up from coach Shane Lenon.
"I'm just happy to be there. There's a couple of blokes away so it's a chance to do my best and it's just good fun to be a part of local footy again," O'Reilly said.
"I haven't played first grade before. It's an honour. 'Sparks' asked me a couple of weeks ago at training would I like to play ones. I was very happy playing twos but now I've got the opportunity, why not?"
The 21-year-old was part of a startlingly successful Wagga Swans junior team but has played very little footy since under 15s.
Back home from university and in a research year in his medical degree, O'Reilly said he had the time to train and play again.
"I didn't play footy in Sydney and I really missed it actually," O'Reilly said.
"I grew up playing footy and you realise it's just part of your identity. I played cricket in the summer but I missed the physicality and I really enjoy being part of a footy club again.
"I know half the club out at Marrar so I decided to go out there... I think I've turned a few heads and I've been really honoured with how I've been taken in by the club out there."
Lenon said O'Reilly deserved his shot with his performances in reserves and efforts at training, and the Bombers also welcome back midfielder Chris O'Donnell and livewire Toby Lawler.
Lenon declared the Jets a big challenge on a day when the club will raise funds for Ian Gordon who has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
"It's certainly a big game. It's MND day out there, it'll be good to be a part of it and play a part in that," Lenon said.
"But they're obviously tracking along nicely. They've got their way into the five and their form the last four or five weeks has been pretty strong.
"We're going to have be at the top of our game and we're going to have to perform to give ourselves a chance."
The Jets have named Sam Fisher at full-forward with rising star Charlie McCormack a notable absentee from their team after impressing as a second target alongside Matt Wallis.
"We've obviously picked our back six and they'll match up on the day," Lenon said.
"They work well together and obviously your midfield and even your forward line play a part in how you defend, with their pressure and that.
"We're confident in our back six and the job they've been doing. They'll have another challenge, they're looking forward to it, as the whole team are."
Meanwhile, Charles Sturt University will be without the leadership of midfielder Wayde Archibald for their danger game against Coleambally at Peter Hastie Oval.
The Bushpigs sprung a surprise in Coleambally in round one, a result that kicked off a disappointing first half of the season for the Blues, who will be looking to re-ignite their finals hopes by returning the favour on CSU's home turf.
Archibald is out with a rib injury but is a chance of returning next week, along with big man Dom Smith (who injured a hamstring at training before their narrow loss to East Wagga-Kooringal two weeks ago).
