The matter of Roger Phillip McGrath, 54, was mentioned in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, but he was not required to appear.

Police have alleged that the Talbingo man assaulted a woman, aged in her 70s, in the Snowy Mountains after he forcibly took her to the location by car.

A solicitor for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions notified Magistrate Christopher Halburd that a fresh charge had been laid.

Mr McGrath is now also accused of stalk or intimidate intending to cause fear of physical or mental harm, domestic violence-related.

He was already facing charges of take or detain person with intent to commit serious indictable offence occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic violence-related), intentionally or recklessly destroy or damage property (domestic violence-related), and drive while licence is suspended.

Mr McGrath's lawyer, Bronte Wynn, said a case conference would be held on July 12 for both parties to discuss the matter.

The matter has been adjourned until August 4.
