Wednesday morning saw the grand opening of the newly relocated chain at the old Masters Building, with a line snaking out the entrance to the car park.
One of those early risers was Jenny Allardice, who said she is passionate about knitting and is always hunting for great deals.
"I have been a shopper at Spotlight for many, many years," she said.
"I do a lot of knitting, a lot of sewing, and we used to do a lot of cross-stitch. Looking for some new materials to use."
Peta Marshall also lined up before 8am on Wednesday despite the frosty air.
"It's all for the free pillows," she joked.

"But, I need some eyelets to make curtains. I enjoy making my own things, and it's a lot cheaper, so you save money.
"I have been doing that since I was 15, so a long time."
Ms Marshall said since the pandemic, she has noticed more people becoming interested in making their items from scratch, whether it be clothes or curtains.
"I think a lot of people are also trying to reuse and recycle, and you need supplies from places like Spotlight to do that," she said.
Wagga store manager, Lisa Parr, said that it was a very exciting day for the city and also for the employees who had put in hours of hard work to get everything ready.
She said that the shop now had an extra 1000sqm of retail space, which meant that Wagga could now access the full range.
"I think with COVID, there was a real increased interested in crafting and sewing," Ms Parr said.
"It was quite disappointing for the people of Wagga who had to travel and order online, but now they can basically get everything here."
Ms Parr said there is an incredible creative appetite in Wagga, whether people are making clothes or fantastic art pieces.
Regional manager Nenad Kalebic said it was an exciting time for both Wagga and Spotlight, and they had hired another 15 people to help with the demand.
"This is a very big footprint at just over 3000sqm, and the beauty of this store is that we can get all the extended ranges," he said.
"We are really pleased to be here and looking forward to seeing some more of the other tenants move in here as well."
