South Wagga fought their way back from 2-0 down to grab a 2-2 draw with the Crows at Rawlings Park.

A Kai Watts goal and a Jayden Beattie penalty put Wagga United in a commanding position early in their clash against the Warriors, just seven days after giving Hanwood a scare.

But the Warriors weren't allow everything to go to script for Wagga United, landing an important goal before half-time to head into the break in touch at 2-1 down.

South Wagga then landed the only goal of the second half to snare a draw.

South Wagga coach Andy Heller was pleased to see his team respond the way they did.

"It's nice to fight back," Heller said.

"We equalised, pushed on and for large periods of the game, we dominated possession. It was good."

It was the second time this year South Wagga had secured points, having broken a 658-day winning drought earlier in the season.

Heller is happy with how the Warriors are improving and was pleased to see them at their best against Wagga United.

"Last week's game against Leeton was a bit one-sided but we played really well against Hanwood and could have quite easily nicked a point there too," he said.

" So to have a game like today, where we got ourselves back in the game was good. We had a really strong start to the season and then we let it slip so it's nice to finally play to how we're capable for a full 90."

Nick Forsyth and Dipu Kuriakose scored South Wagga's two goals. Luke Nicholls and Forsyth were standouts for the Warriors.

For Wagga United, it was another costly missed opportunity. They have matched it with the best teams in the competition but also drawn with Cootamundra and now South Wagga.

Wagga United captain Brady Sim was disappointed.

"Very frustrating but they did come at us very hard and pressed us," Sim said.

"The boys tried to definitely play the way we train, out from the back and get it forward but it just didn't happen.

"Games like this if we want to be there at the end of the season, we need to grab them now, these situations but it is what it is and we'll keep working on it.

"The boys have got the right idea, it's just a matter of putting it out there."

Meantime, Leeton United climbed into the top four with a 2-0 away win over Young at Hall Bros Oval.

Tolland and Cootamundra both picked up a point with a 1-1 draw, while Henwood Park downed Tumut 5-2.
