The Magpies were occasionally exposed by the speed of North Wagga and found it tough to go cleanly into their own forward line.
Joey Kerin switches from the forward line to a wing, while defender Dylan Cook's move to the ruck frees up Cody Cool for the other wing.
"Dylan's been keen to get up the ground, he's a good leader and we think it'll be a positive move," co-coach Heath Russell said.
"With Jake (Adams) out we've been asking Cody Cool to do a lot of work, being undersized (in the ruck) and we'd probably prefer him and his run out on the wings."
Kerin has kicked 25 goals (including four last week) but TRYC struggled to hit Dean Biermann or Shannon Williams.
"He's really good at getting on the end of a few and kicking a few but we thought we'd try him up there to try to get a bit more run," Russell said.
"North Wagga are a quick side and their ball movement probably highlighted that we need to look at ways to match that and have our own weapons.
"We're just trying to find the right combination of having some targets and having enough soldiers at ground level."
Russell said approaching the midpoint of the season they're taking stock of their losses to North Wagga and Marrar and will keep looking for the right formula.
The co-coach comes back in for the 'Pies with midfielder Mitch Stephenson going out with hamstring tightness. As well as ruckman Adams (ankle), midfielder Cooper Diessel (collarbone) also remains sidelined, meaning the availability of Wodonga's Zac Brain for a second game in the midfield is valuable.
