Police have launched an investigation following a fatal single-vehicle crash in the region.

Just before 7am on Sunday, emergency services were called to Tumbarumba Road, Carabost, about 35km north west of Tumbarumba, following reports a vehicle was found crashed into a tree on the side of the road.
The male driver and sole occupant died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Officers from Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Parts of Tumbarumba Road were closed for several hours while emergency services were on the scene.
The road is now open.
