Ben Lee is one such artist who is back home in Australia and coming to Wagga Wagga for the "O.M.G I'm playing gigs again! Tour" next weekend.
Lee is grateful to be living here once more, after moving from Los Angeles with his family late last year, and to be able to tour.
Lee began his career as a young teenager in the early 90s in the Australian band Noise Addict, before embarking on a solo career.
His songs have always attempted to take his most complex and existential romantic yearnings and compress them into catchy and melodic pop songs.
But it was 2005's Awake is the New Sleep that led to Lee getting worldwide recognition with Catch My Disease that was awarded song of the year ARIA award as well as going double platinum in Australia.
Perhaps Lee's greatest legacy is the song We're All in this Together, which has become an anthem of sorts for a troubled world over the past year.
Lee's Wagga show will feature some old favourites as well as some new songs and he promises it will be a good time.
