Kicking 30 goals in a 139-point local derby victory against Temora, the Jets ended a 13-game losing streak at Ariah Park, wiped the memories of a horror 101-point loss against the Kangaroos there last time they played, and moved into the top five.
But the 30.11 (191) to 8.4 (52) win also meant consecutive wins for the first time since August 2017.
That was what pleased coach Josh Avis, who also couldn't remember the last time he'd been in a team that kicked that many goals.
"It's been a long time, a very long time. It's been a long time since we've gone back-to-back too so it's been a very good day, just put it that way," Avis said.
In a game that had plenty of feeling, forward Matt Wallis kicked nine while rising star Charlie McCormack enjoyed seven goals in only his second senior game, stepping out of the under 17s.
"He had a bit of space. He reads the ball really well and has a great set of hands," Avis said.
The Jets opened with nine goals in the first quarter and 10 straight in the second, lapsing only in the third quarter briefly.
"They're always spiteful matches against Temora and the first half was full of spite. The pleasing thing is we were able to keep our heads and roll on and keep playing footy," Avis said.
"The second half we weren't quite as potent... but for three-and-half-quarters we played our style of footy and the result showed what we can do."
The big win saw the Jets climb to fifth, ahead of CSU on percentage, with both teams on three wins and three losses.
Their classy midfield led the way and Stephen Coate was also among their best, continuing to show his value since coming from Canberra.
Coate was signed after Ryan Quade injured a knee, and the Jets have discovered they may not see the key position player again this season after his recovery hasn't gone as planned.
"He was hoping for a quick recovery, seven or eight weeks, but it's pushed back to 12 weeks so we might be very lucky if we get another game out of him this year," Avis said.
Chris Bell suffered a broken nose against Temora.
On a brutal day out for their rivals, Temora were best served by Lachlan and Angus McRae and Isaac Reardon.
