Tolland recorded their first win of the season on Sunday when they upset South Wagga 4-1 at Rawlings Park.
The Warriors had been in pretty good form so far this season but the Wolves managed to get on top early and controlled the game from there.
Elphick, who returned to the club this season after a year leading Henwood Park, was pleased to see his team rewarded for their effort.
"It's good, really good," Elphick said.
"The guys played some good combos down the lines there. We've got a whole new crew, which is helping us to rebuild and develop these young guys coming through. Hopefully that will lift us a bit more and get us going.
"The guys are actually starting to gel now. We've still got a hard road yet but this gives us the confidence that we've been looking for."
Tolland welcomed the experienced Jason Cuttle back on Sunday and he was the Wolves' players' player in his first game in a few years.
Another uplifting moment for Tolland was a second half goal to Bernie Blake, who made her Pascoe Cup debut the week before.

It was an impressive turnaround from Tolland, who had conceded 28 goals without scoring in the opening three weeks of the competition.
Elphick said the win was a result of hard work.
"It's been very tough. We faced the top two teams in the comp to start with. And Hanwood, they're on fire. They've got the likes of Andy (Gamble) and those guys who have played football," he said.
"It was a bit rough and we had our heads down for a little bit but we've been training hard, two hours on the pitch Thursdays, doing a video thing on Tuesdays, and about an hour on Saturdays with first division as well so we've been digging in, we've got to get these guys running.
"Now we lift, we keep going, stay positive and keep moving forward. Yeah, we've lost some players but we've gained some as well."
Elphick said this season was all about development.
"We're not going to go out winning grand finals or anything like that. It would be good to be pushing for top four, top five but it's more about development and getting these young ones through and getting them into first division," he said.
"Callum Rath made his debut today. He had 20 minutes on the pitch and he loved it. We've never really played together before, we're all a new team. It's a rebuild, it will be hard for us for a while but we've just got to keep rebuilding."
