No injuries have been reported from either incident.
The first occurred just before 7pm at the intersection between Edward Street and Fitzhardinge Street when two cars collided at the turn.
Police blocked off the entrance to Fitzhardinge Street while firefighters worked to contain the scene.
Tow trucks were on hand to swiftly clear the collision before the sudden downpour.
Meanwhile, moments later, emergency services received a call out to Hampden Avenue where two cars had reportedly collided near the entrance to the Palm and Pawn Tavern.
Paramedics assessed the participants to both crashes and it is understood there was no serious injuries sustained by any party.
