Hosted at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club on November 6, the festival will see Aussie artists including former Cold Chisel guitarist Ian Moss, country music favourite Shannon Noll and Kate Ceberano descend on Wagga for the one-day festival.
Tickets are available for pre-sale at 12pm on Tuesday and general sale will start at 10am on Friday May 14.
The full line up also includes Richard Clapton, Russell Morris, Ross Wilson, The Radiators, Wendy Matthews, Dragon and Bachelor Girl.
The artists said they were thrilled to be playing in Wagga with Ian Moss pointing to the city as a particular highlight for him.
"The good folk of Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas have always supported me, and it's one of my favourite areas to play in Australia, so I can't wait to come back for Sunset Sounds in November," the musician said.
Former Australian idol star Shannon Noll said he looked forward to seeing his Wagga fanbase.
"I'm really looking forward to coming down to Wagga Wagga in November as part of the amazing Sunset Sounds line-up and playing the hits for my very loyal Wagga fans," Shannon Noll said. "It's going to be a ripppa!"
Kate Cebrano said she is delighted to be back on stage after a tough year for artists.
""At the moment, all musicians play "day by day", making every gig count...every opportunity to be in front of a crowd, doing the thing we all most love to do, which is to play, sing, and entertain!" she said.
The event is another score for the Murrumbidgee Turf Club who last week held the mammoth Gold Cup and Town Plate race days.
CEO Steve Keene said the club was excited to host the event particularly after a tough year after COVID.
"The entertainment industry has been severely hit by COVID so its very important not just for the industry but for locals as well to have as many events that can stimulate the economy as possible," Mr Keene said.
He said he anticipated an enthusiastic crowd for the festival.
"I think as has been shown with all events they've all been very well attended so we're expecting another great crowd and the weather will be perfect that time of year so there are no excuses," he said.
Wagga Business Chamber's Serena Hardwick said the music festival coming to Wagga was fantastic news for local business, pointing to last weekend's tourism boom as an example of the benefit of hosting events.
"After the weekend we can see what events actually do for the city in terms of business, the impact that's had on the city in terms of bringing additional revenue," Ms Hardwick said.
"We are starting to be known as that event city, the fact that we keep getting large scale events, that's become our tourism point of difference, that we have the infrastructure and venues to actually support them."
