In 2020, Baby Bounce moved to an online model due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the successful resumption of storytime at the library earlier this year, Baby Bounce will return for four Tuesday sessions on June 1, 8, 15 and 22.
Baby Bounce is designed for children aged 0-12 months. It teaches caregivers how to use the fundamentals of rhythm, rhyme, songs and language while playing and communicating with a baby.
Learning studies have shown that children's early literacy develops with the first sounds and tones of speech, and accompanying play, long before they start to understand visual symbols.
These early skills greatly assist children later, when they are learning to read.
Baby Bounce is also a great opportunity for parents to meet other carers with babies, and to make important social connections.
Baby Bounce will stay COVID-safe by using online bookings to limit numbers, together with sanitation of all shared surfaces and furniture.
Each free session runs for 30 minutes from 10.30am. Caregivers are welcome to attend any or all sessions.
Online bookings are essential, and will be available through the library's "What's On" page at waggalibrary.com.au, one week prior.
The library is also hosting a free Law Week workshop, "Your Money and the Law", at 10.30am on Thursday, May 20, featuring expert advice from Legal Aid NSW.
Topics will include resources to help with common money problems, such as debt, being owed money, and borrowing. Book now.
