Wagga, today is the day. It's Gold Cup.
The gates to the Murrumbidgee Turf Club at Travers Street and Slocum Street will both be open from 11am and all racegoers will need to check in with the Service NSW QR code.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a partly cloudy day with light winds becoming southwesterly 20 to 25km/h in the middle of the day and a maximum temperature of 24 degrees.
MTC chief executive Steven Keane said ticket sales this year have been incredibly strong with about 4000 general admissions sold.
Mr Keane said this is likely due to people being keen for the Gold Cup after missing out last year and also an eagerness to get out and about after the lockdowns.
"The weather is looking great," he said. "It is going to be a great day."
The first race jumps at 12.40pm with the main race starting at 4.20pm.
