A winner of three cups in the Riverina, as well as the MIA Breeders Plate at two, part-owner and former trainer-driver Stephen Maguire believes he was out of options with the five-year-old.
"You can't place them here and he's on the mark now where you have to travel," Maguire said.
"It's too hard on him so it's easier if he's already there so I decided to leave him there."
Major Roll remained in Sydney after sixth at Menangle last month following an eighth in the Riverina Championships final at group one level in Wagga.
He's won 20 of his 46 starts and over $155,000 in prizemoney for Maguire and is a national ratings 99 pacer.
Major Roll has drawn barrier two in the Bulli Cup with Jack Callaghan to take the drive.
