Set up in the second quarter and finished off in the last, CSU's 14.11 (95) to 9.8 (62) victory has the club sitting fourth on the ladder on percentage, joining Marrar, North Wagga, The Rock-Yerong Creek and East Wagga-Kooringal as teams with just one loss after four rounds.
Entertaining a big crowd, the teams traded five goals each in the first quarter with the Jets in front by a point, before the Bushpigs got right on top and kicked five goals to none in the second.
They were challenged in the third quarter and knew they had to find something with just a two-goal lead heading into the last. But for the second time, they kept the Jets goalless for a quarter to finish off a strong win.
"When you've got a young group it can go the other way, especially on a big occasion for the club and probably the biggest crowd a lot of these boys will have played in front of," CSU coach Travis Cohalan said.
"We put it on them to stand up and they delivered in spades in the last quarter so I couldn't be prouder of the boys. They've earnt their rewards, being three-and-one heading into the bye. I'm very happy. Everything they've got they've earnt."
Jets midfielder Mitch Haddrill threatened to lead an upset, with a big influence on the game early, but CSU had an answer in Lachy Moore after quarter-time.
In a starring performance, Moore's efforts reduced the Jets 'impact and created headaches of his own.
"Moorey was fantastic today, I thought it was one of the better midfield performances I've seen in a very long time," Cohalan said.
"He won a lot of the footy and made Mitch and their midfield chase him. He ran a marathon on the ball, didn't swap much and his fitness, class and toughness shone through."
Wayde Archibald also had a big impact on his return, playing the game up forward where CSU were missing Jacob Collingridge. Archibald finished with four of CSU's 14 goals while Ben Browning added three.
Max Findlay was also among their best and kicked two.
"It's a big day for the club to remember the last 50 years and for the boys to get the win for them, we're over the moon," Cohalan said.
"The Northern Jets have some real quality footballers and some height that we struggled to match at different periods, which made it a massive challenge.
"I thought they played some really good footy."
Jets forward Matt Wallis was a constant threat for the visitors when they had momentum and went forward.
While CSU enjoy next week off with the bye, the Jets will search for their second win of the season against The Rock-Yerong Creek at Ariah Park.
