After last year's ban on crowds, 2021 made up for lost time with the William Farrer Hotel's outdoor setup packed to the brim.
One attendee Benjamin Lovett was chuffed with his winnings.
"I've won big, I'm up $450, look at all this cash," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Fellow punter Bill Ryan was a first timer at the game, but said he'd picked it up "pretty quick".
"I didn't even know how to play before I got here, but a few older people showed me the ropes and I've only lost $10 so far," he said at the time.
While the big crowd suggested a strong following for the game, not everyone was a fan.
Alex Gooley said she and her boyfriend had made a deal as he prepared to place a few bets.
"I'm pretty anti-gambling, but my boyfriend loves a bit of a flutter every now and then, so the deal is this year every dollar he loses, he has to give me," she said.
"So he's down $40, which means I get $40. Basically, he's losing double then and that should discourage him from doing it so much."
As the evening goes on, plenty more cash will be won and lost to the game only legal amid the Anzac Day spirit.
