"Everybody seems to be adhering to the rules and standing in appropriate spaces," he said.
"QR codes are on the front of brochures as they arrive and we're going around and helping them out should they require it."
Gaps were left between chairs, and many chose to stand in the open spaces behind the seating allocations.
Few wore masks, however this was in compliance with the NSW Government's limit of 5000 persons for an outdoor ANZAC Day commemoration event.
With relaxed restrictions the Wagga City Men's Rugby Choir were also able to lead the crowd in a number of hymns and a musical rendition of In Flanders Field.
The ANZAC Day Ceremony at 11am also had QR codes for check in.
It was a welcome change from last year's celebration for serviceman Tom Haynes who was a member of the early service's Catafalque Party.
After spending last ANZAC Day overseas in the midst of COVID restrictions, he welcomed the COVID-safe celebration.
"Its pretty great to see," Mr Haynes said. "Last year I was overseas on a training exercise at the height of COVID so we had a small dawn service on the base and that was it, it was a bit disappointing, so its great to see the town turn it on and it will be good to get about."
