This means extra tickets are now available for the Sydney Writers' Festival Live & Local, from April 30-May 2, and the One Book One Wagga Gala Dinner, on May 14.

The Sydney Writers' Festival will stream highlights of its program to the Wagga council meeting room, providing a three-day feast of live discussion and debate. Wagga residents can enjoy it all without having to leave town.

Some highlights of Live & Local 2021 include novelist Richard Flanagan in conversation with ABC chief political correspondent Laura Tingle, at 4pm on Saturday, May 1.

Flanagan's latest book The Living Sea of Waking Dreams is a tender, haunting portrait of a world disappearing around us.

On Sunday, May 2 at 2pm, Walkley Award-winning reporter Jan Fran and comedian Judith Lucy will talk about humour, memoir, and what it means to be "fine". Live & Local tickets are just $10 a day, for any and all sessions on that day.

Extra seats are also now available for the library's One Book One Wagga Gala Dinner, on Friday, May 14.

Featuring Rosalie Ham, the author of this year's selection The Dressmaker's Secret, in conversation with Amy Heap, this night promises to be a grand finale for Wagga's biggest book club.

Bookings are essential for both events. Tickets for One Book One Wagga are available through the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre. Use a Discover NSW voucher to receive a $25 discount.
