Former Group Nine star Dylan McLachlan made a triumphant start to his time with his new club, leading the Boiled Lollies to a big win at Beres Ellwood Oval.
Wagga City ran in 12 unanswered tries in their opening performance of the season with Tomasi Vularua-Nabuliwaqa and Nathan Seymour both crossing for doubles.
Wagga City coach Ben Schreiber could not have been happier with the first-up performance.
"Obviously we went out there and tried to execute what we've been working on and lucky enough for us, it came off," Schreiber said.
"It all worked well on the day."
Schreiber loved particularly how his team never stopped taking the game on.
"Just the boys' attitude and not slowing down, even though we were well up," he said.
"That and the close support we provided each other throughout the game."

Schreiber was impressed with the debuts of Dylan and Tyson McLachlan. Dylan shone in the centres, while Tyson controlled things at scrum half.
He also singled out the Wagga City forwards, who he said set the platform for the win.
Schreiber admitted he was surprised by the scoreline in the end but is now looking forward to next Saturday's clash with Waratahs.
"Yeah I didn't expect to end up with that scoreline but fortunately enough we did," he said.
"At the end of the day, the boys have done the work and it's paying dividends for them. Obviously we can't rest on their laurels with 'Tahs this week coming. We'll get back to the training paddock and knuckle down on the things we need to work on."
Waratahs ensured they will head into next Saturday's blockbuster undefeated with a hard-fought 19-14 win over Griffith at Wade Park.
Both teams lost players to yellow cards at different stages of the game, but Waratahs were able to do enough to stay in front of a gallant Griffith team.
Griffith coach Chris McGregor was pleased with his team's opening performance despite the defeat.
"I couldn't be happier with how it went," McGregor told The Area News.
"That is our first game as a unit, and they have had an actual match, and they have had a couple of first-grade trial games whereas our trials were as a whole group."
Albury continued their strong start to the season with a 64-5 win over Ag College at Murrayfield on Saturday.
The Steamers went in without a number of key players but still managed to get the job done.
