Eyes For Millie made a winning debut at Wagga, taking out the Bedrock Landscape Supplies Pace (1740m) by six and a half metres.
The Warrawee Needy filly backed up some impressive trial performances and justified her $1.45 starting price with what was the first leg of a winning double for Peter McRae.
He scored later in the day on the Trevor White-trained Fine Thread ($4.80).
Meantime, the $12,240 Ray White Rural Real Estate Coolamon Cup (2210m) will be held on Sunday.
The leading stables of David Kennedy and Ellen Bartley will take a strong hand into the race, with both starting two in the feature.
Bartley has come up with the coveted gate one draw with Forever Yin, who Blake Jones has opted to drive. Bartley will take the steer on Nowhere Creek, who will start from gate eight on the second row.
Kennedy's charge will be led by talented mare Adira, who will be driven by Jack Painting from the second row draw of 10. Adam Richardson will partner stablemate Mammals Prince from gate three.
Other interesting runners in the Cup are Metal Rock, chasing a fourth straight win, as well as Rocky Creed and Arma Naughty.
