The Camel Racing Day will be held at the Wagga Showground and not the Harness Club where it was originally advertised, with the festivities to run between 4pm and 9pm.
Touted to be "the ultimate camel racing experience", the event will feature a selection of zany races that can be both observed and, for the daring attendee, participated in.
"There will be six races throughout the day as well as human novelty races," event manager Jason Bock said.
"All novelty races will have crowd participation, and people can sign up on the day."
Novelty races will include T-Rex costume races and "human camel" races.
The main show is a real life trackside event, with fast-footed camels ridden by specialty jockeys in a fiercely competitive race, and with camels able to reach speeds up to 65 km per hour it's set to be a thrilling run.
Mr Bock says Camel Racing Down Under is thrilled to be able to bring the race to Wagga after a few false starts due to Coronavirus restrictions.
The event started up in Penrith in 2019 and will go national this year, with shows booked as far as Brisbane.
The evening is expected to be a family affair as attendees make the most of recently relaxed restrictions.
Ticket holders will also be able to enjoy food trucks or are invited to bring a picnic and relax at the showground while the fun unfolds.
Entry free for children under 12, $5 for under-18s and $20 for adults.
