The Bulls missed finals for a first time in a decade last season after their remaining players agreed to forgo payments in the COVID-shortened season.
Now Rose is looking to get things back on track when they start their campaign against Albury at Harris Park on Sunday.
"Whatever happened last year has happened but we've had a good pre-season with all the boys this year and we're just focusing on that," Rose said.
"We're not worried about anything else."
Alongside a number of returning faces, Southcity have had a plethora of talent link with the club from Junee.
Former Diesels captain-coach Trent Schubach will play at hooker, with Kyle McCarthy reverting back to halfback, while Daniel Foley will play on the wing.
Foley scored a hat-trick for Riverina in the position earlier this year and Rose is looking to get the back line balance right.
"Foles is going to start on the wing this week and we'll see how it goes," he said.
"Things might pan out a bit differently along the season but for the moment we've just got to try to find out the best way Foles works into our team. That will be the challenge."
With Foley on the wing Mitch Bennett and Cody Hodge will line up in the centres.
Southcity have had an extra week's preparation after having the bye to start the season.
After the longer wait, Rose can't wait to get back onto Harris Park to tackle Albury on Sunday.
"All the boys are keen to play some footy so we'll be ready to go come Sunday," he said.
"We're just about at full strength and obviously Albury are coming off a loss so I'm sure they will be looking to bounce back.
"At the same time we're looking to get our first win of the season."
Albury were on the wrong end of a 54-10 scoreline against Young to start the season.
However after not taking part last season, Rose expects they will be better for their first hit out in over 19 months.
"The main focus is us turning up, doing our jobs and doing them well," he said.
