A man has been taken to Canberra Hospital and two of his sons treated in the Riverina after they were attacked while walking in a Riverina town's main street at the weekend.

Murrumbidgee Police District officers are seeking witnesses to the attack, which occurred as the family unit walked home from a night out in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At 1am on April 10, a father and his two sons left the Hillston Ex-Servicemen's Club and went to the Tattersalls Hotel.

When they entered the hotel they were asked to leave because one of the man's sons was under 18.
As they walked up west on High Street, they were verbally abused by two patrons.
One of the man's sons punched the glass twice, shattering it.
The two men later confronted the family on High Street and allegedly attacked them.
All three family members were punched and kicked. A witness called the police.
The family then walked home and called an ambulance which took them to Griffith Base Hospital.
The father was taken to the Canberra Hospital suffering two fractures in his jaw and missing teeth, one son was taken to Wagga Base Hospital with fractured thumb while the other son was being treated for a swollen right cheek and a fracture at the base of his neck.
