On Tuesday, April 13, The Vegetable Plot, an award-winning musical act for kids and families, will perform in council's meeting room at 3.30pm. The Vegetable Plot was last here in 2018 and had dozens of children dancing to their catchy songs, celebrating the virtues of vegetables. Tickets are just $3 per person.
During Youth Week (April 16 - 24), the library will host two programs designed for high school students. On Thursday, April 15, mental health mentors Mindful Warrior will run Mindfulness Sessions in our Community Learning Space at 10am and 2pm. Each session is free and offers a program developed to teach high schoolers the tools of mindfulness. Studies have shown that practising mindfulness has a positive impact on students' emotional wellbeing, mental health, ability to learn and physical health.
On Friday, April 16, Headspace Wagga Wagga and Wagga Wagga City Council will team up to present a free 'Adulting' Workshop for young people aged 16 and over.
Starting at 9am, this will include tips and tricks from professionals in a fun and judgement-free environment. Topics will include resumes, interview skills and entering the workforce, as well as financial literacy and mental and physical health, including sexual health. Lunch and morning tea will be provided and participants gain a certificate of completion.
Lastly, if you enjoy a Quick crossword but find Cryptic crosswords a mystery, come to our free Cryptic Crossword Club, running on three Thursday mornings (April 15, 22 and 29) as part of Fresh. Each class starts at 10.30am and all ages and levels of ability are welcome.
Please note that for all of these events, bookings are essential, so that we can adhere to COVID-safe limits.
